April 2016

During the final quarter of 2015 and first quarter of 2016, we have successfully completed works on 66 individual renewable energy projects.
Situated throughout the UK, this includes 47 large scale ground mounted solar farms, 18 wind turbine projects and 1 large scale 33kV Energy from Waste plant, this includes works on one 132kV contestable project in the SSE area and two 66kV contestable projects in the WPD area. These projects have a total generation export capacity in excess of 430 Megawatts (MW), which brings our total embedded generation capacity connected up to a huge 1.33GW since 2011.

Completing works on site by 31st March 2016 was of vital importance for our clients with large scale solar projects, as the existing tariffs have been removed for all new projects connected after this date. This meant more developers than ever required their connection before the deadline. We also have a large number of new projects being connected to the grid further into 2016 under “grandfather rights”.

This is the fifth year running that we have achieved a 100% record of completing all contracted renewable energy projects within the desired timescales for clients. We completed various scopes of works on these projects, which ranged from building out the entire Contestable Works element of a site, to providing a bespoke Containerised Substation; and were responsible for over 3, 459km of High Voltage cable being installed in the 47 solar farms.

Our in-house Civil and Electrical design engineers ensured each completed project underwent a full detailed design; and the on-site Project Managers have faced all sorts of adverse weather and site specific challenges during the build stages.
Our warehouse facility in Milton Keynes has built out 44 bespoke Containerised Substations since November; both DNO and Client-side.
To date, we have completed works on in excess of 245 grid connections, equating to 1.33GW of generation connected to the grid.
